Eduard Muller is the Principal Author of Chapter 9, Capacity Building. He is the Founder and President of the University for International Cooperation where he also is the Chair-holder of the UNESCO Chair for Biosphere Reserves and Natural and Mixed World Heritage Sites. He has worked on climate change, biosphere reserves, protected areas, local rural development, poverty and conservation, sustainable development, sustainable tourism, eco and agro-tourism, local agenda 21, wildlife management, project development and evaluation, protected areas, animal production and reproduction, alternative production systems, curriculum development, training, academic administration and research. He has conducted professional activities in over 30 countries. His academic career spans over 35 years and he has published more than 50 papers or chapters in books.
He is intensely involved in the communication of sustainable consumption, climate change and The Earth Charter, having given over 100 conferences in more than 25 countries in North, Central and South America, Europe, Africa and Asia to a diverse public, from parliamentarians, governors and ministers, students and teachers at universities, colleges and schools, businessmen, international organizations and, local and indigenous communities.
