Professor Steve Dovers is Director of the Fenner School of Environment and Society, Australian National University, and Honorary Professorial Research Fellow, Charles Darwin University. His teaching and research interest are in environmental policy and institutions, participatory and integrated resource management, and disaster management. The Fenner School is supporting the protected areas book project, and has teaching and research programs in a range of disciplines, including water science, conservation biology, fire management, human ecology and environmental policy. Steve's books include 'Environment and sustainability policy' (Federation Press), 'Institutional change for sustainable development' (Edward Elgar) and 'Handbook of disaster policies and institutions' (Earthscan). He was a member of the Australian Government's advisory group that developed the National Wildlife Corridors Plan. He is Associate Editor of the journals Australasian Journal of Environmental Management and Environmental Science and Policy, and a member of the Editorial Boards of Global Environmental Change and Local Environment.
